Did you love the Gromit Unleashed trail/ exhibition as much as I did?
I've always had a special place in my heart for Wallace & Gromit. 54 sculptures from The Gromit Unleashed 3 trail that had been individually painted/decorated by artists were unleashed on the streets of Bristol for the public to enjoy. I fell in love with the glitzy, glamorous Bobby Dazzler- a glitter ball effect mosaic sculpture by artist Lizzie Tucker ( @lamosaicgifts). So when the exhibition came to Cribbs in September I took the opportunity to see his glamour in person and capture my reference photos.
I'm a coloured pencil artist, who primarily draws pets. However, the mirror effect on the mosaic tiles seemed like a perfect challenge to draw and I really wanted to capture the shiny, colourful disco ball Gromit. 10,000 shimmering tiles that catch the light from every angle, such a marvel to see! And with the Red carpet beneath reflecting in the tiles, I had to get to work drawing!
After lots of patience and a rainbow of colours, my A3 rendition of the gorgeous sculpture was complete! So if you missed out on the auction of the scultpure or just love Bobby Dazzler as much as me, here's your chance to own a little piece of him in the form of artwork. An A3 mounted original drawing in lightfast coloured pencils on Stonehenge paper is up for grabs!

As the Bristol Children's Hospital Charity, The Grand Appeal funds projects that help support 100,000 children who visit for treatment from as far away as South Wales, Cornwall & Devon every year.
Donations help to supply the following:
Life- saving equipment and Uk- firsts in treatment and research.
Comfortable free family accomodation houses for as long as families need them.
Art, music and play therapies to distract and entertain patients.
Refurbishments to create age-appropriate environments.
Staff wellness schemes.
